Google Bard rebrands as Gemini

Google rebranded its experimental AI chatbot, Bard, to Gemini.

The “Gemini” brand unifies several of Google’s AI offerings, including Duet AI, Bard and the default AI assistant in android. Gemini is now available on the web and will soon roll out to the Google app in iOS.

Google also announced the Gemini Ultra 1.0, an enhanced version of Gemini available through a $20/month subscription.

AI helps decipher a 2000 year old burned scroll

Digital images of the burned scroll

A group of student researchers used AI to decode a 2,000-year-old scroll that was burned during the volcanic eruption of 79 CE.

In the 18th Century, Researchers recovered over 1,000 such scrolls. However, they faced a significant challenge: the scrolls would crumble to pieces whenever attempts were made to unroll them.

But now we can read the scrolls without unrolling them -

  1. A new technique using 3D mapping and high-resolution CT scan builds a digital version of the scroll without opening it.

The burned scrolls couldn’t be opened

  2. A new AI algorithm to detect and read the letters on the digital scans

The team’s innovative work also led them to win the $700K grand prize in the Vesuvius Challenge.

Create Videos using ChatGPT

Creating videos has traditionally been a time-consuming process, involving hours of scripting and editing.

However, with ChatGPT, you can now generate videos in seconds!

The best part? You can create TikTok style videos with complete audio voiceovers!

Here’s a quick guide on how to generate videos using ChatGPT

  1. Use Video GPT

Start by accessing Video GPT in OpenAI’s GPT Store

  2. Craft a Prompt

This step is crucial. Consider the type of video you want to create. Think about the topic, the tone you wish to set and other key details.

For example, you might say - “Create a concise, engaging video tutorial on yoga for beginners, featuring calm music and simple animations.”

  3. Preview and Edit

And done! Your video is ready. If it requires any modifications, simply re-prompt ChatGPT. For more advanced editing, such as adding transitions, visual effects and adjusting audio, consider using Veed’s online editor.

And there you have it - your video is ready in no time!
