NVIDIA releases the most powerful AI chip ever
The Blackwell B00 GPU
NVIDIA released the next generation AI GPU that is 4X faster than the current Hopper GPU.
The new Blackwell B00 GPU comes with 208 billion transistors capable of 20 PetaFlops of compute, while saving up to 25x energy consumption.
The GPU might cost $40,000 and is geared towards enterprise data centers.
Additionally, 2 B200 GPUs and 1 Grace GPU can be combined to form a GB200 superchip, capable of 30x performance gain for AI inference! (Read More)
Google’s “VLOGGER” AI creates vlog from an image
Video Generation from a single input image
Google researchers unveiled “VLOGGER” AI, capable to transforming a single input image into realistic videos with audio and face movement.
Under the hood, Vlogger AI uses diffusion models to animate diverse individuals with speech and gestures.
The model can be used to dub a video into another language and in creating better interactions in virtual reality. (read more)
Apple might use Google’s Gemini AI in iPhones
Apple and Google are discussing a partnership to integrate Google's Gemini AI into iPhone features.
This collaboration could expand their existing relationship, with Google currently paying Apple $20 billion annually to be the default search engine on iOS devices.
This potential partnership, expected to be announced by June, might face regulatory scrutiny due to existing antitrust investigations. (read more)
X open sources Grok AI model
Elon Musk's xAI open-sourced the base model of Grok AI. Under the hood, Grok is a Mixture-of-Expert model with 314 billion parameters.
Grok is available under Apache License 2.0, allowing anyone to use it, even for commercial use. (Read More)
